Application Procedure to apply for JNVST Navodaya 6th Class Selection Test 2026 – 2027:
Students or their parents need to submit the online application for JNV Selection test. Previously the navodaya schools are accepting the forms directly. But to allow transparency this year online application only allowed.
Candidates eligibility they must be studying 5th standard in any government registered school. They must have born in between the designated dates as per notification.
The online application form was free to apply. The JNV helpdesk is available to approach for any assistance.
Seat Allocation Details:
At least 75% of the seats in a district are filled by candidates provisionally selected from rural areas of the district.
The remaining seats are open and will be filled from both Urban and Rural Area candidates based on merit.

JNV Navodaya Class Six (VI) Entrance Test 2026-27 Application Registration Process:
Applicants must need to know that JNVST Navodaya Admissions Test Registration is available only at navodaya.gov.in website. The official website is under maintenance but a new link is open for online registration @ https://cbseitms.rcil.gov.in/nvs
In this official page link we can see options for Application Registration, Download Propectus, Block details of various states etc.
Select the option Click Here for Registration for Class VI JNVST (2026-27) link. Now fill the candidate mandatory questions.
First question is Candidate passed Class V or not, Second is if he or she appeared for JNVST Exam previously or not, Third is have you read the notification prospectus document properly or not, Fourth is Select the district of Residence and schooling, Fifth is Candidate is promoted from Class V before 31 July 2025 yes or no and last is does the candidate have aadhar number or not?
Answer all the above questions with appropriate answers fit to your application form and select submit button. If the aadhar number is valid and OTP verified, you will enter into profile page.
Enter Name of candidate, Applicants Mobile Number, Date of Birth.
Also Enter captcha Verification Code select Submit.
Then you are displayed a message showing your Registration number or User name and password will be sent VIA SMS to mobile number.
Hence Now applicants need to submit Phase 2 application part.
Phase 2 application stage has the process to submit Personal Details, Uploading candidates Photograph, Signatures of Applicant, Parents. All the students details must be accurate while applying before final submission.
Also To full fill this stage all need to login with their received registration details. We advise you to change the password for security reasons.
Upload the candidate signature in signature box, Passport size photo below 100 kb size in photo box. Give the education details, Marks Memo details secured in Class V, School Admission details & address etc.
Upload the Caste certificate, Residential certificate and other bonafides if your application require to complete the application registration.
Eligibility Criteria for JNVST Class VI Entrance Test
- Students can only apply for their district navodaya school where they are residing. No crossing over or Outside admissions are allowed.
- Students who are born between 1 May 2013 to 30 April 2016 are eligible for seeking an admission and appearing for Entrance Exam 2026.
- Every applicant must complete Class 5 in any of Government Aided or Government Recognized school at-least with B certificate. They must finish their Class 5 in 2025-26 academic year.
- Candidates who are promoted or admitted to class 5 after 15th september 2025 are not eligible to apply. His or her application will be automatically rejected by JNV admission screening committee.
- Applicants can only apply once and appear for exam once. No student is allowed to appear for entrance test for a second time under any circumstances.
- Students need to produce their Rural status certificate issued by District Tehsildar or BDO or Magistrate.
- Disabled category students need to go trough the application prospectus for complete details of their list of documents and eligibility criteria.
Transgender kids are also given admission in boys category for reservation purposes.
Requirements for JNVST Class 6 Entrance Test Application Registration:
- Passport size photo scanned copy of student
- Birth Certificate or Nativity Certificate of student
- Current School Admission Certificate and Marks list.
- Aadhar Card of Student
- Bank Ac details of Parents or Guardian
- Parents and Candidate Signature scanned copy in JPG format below 90 KB size
- Address Proof details.
- NIOS certificates if the child is studying in distance mode, Rural Residential Certificate is mandatory.
- Caste Certificate if candidates belong to SC, ST, OBC categories and must be included in Central OBC list.
- Government issued Physically Challenged Divyang Certificate attested if applicable for certain categories.
- School Transfer Certificate should be applied only after the admission confirmation and should be attested by the DEO or BEO officers.

How to edit JNVST submitted Application Form?
Navodaya Vidyalaya School Admission Application Registration will be closed on 29th of July 2025. Candidates must note that there is no window or option for editing the application form which is submitted online. In some unforseen circumstances applicants must visit the Regional Navodaya Vidyalaya Headquarter office and meet the Corresponding officer for clarification.
